About Us

Our Story

Khelo Vadodara was born out of concern, frustration, and love.

As playgrounds across Vadodara disappeared under concrete and neglect, parents, teachers, and athletes saw the childhoods of our children slipping away. What started as small conversations in neighborhoods soon became a collective voice. A voice that said loud and clear: “Our kids deserve to play. Our grounds deserve to live.” This voice is now Khelo Vadodara, a citizen-led movement to protect, revive, and celebrate our city’s sporting spirit.

What we stand for

Our Mission & Goals

Protecting playgrounds, preserving childhood, and passing on the spirit of play for generations to come.

We envision a city where play is a way of life, where every neighborhood has a ground, every child has a ball, and families gather to cheer on laughter, sport, and dreams. A Vadodara where traditional games like Kabaddi and Kho-Kho thrive alongside modern sports, carrying forward 100 years of heritage into the next century.

Voices of Vadodara

Sanjay (parent of two)

I never realized how important that little ground was until it was gone. Khelo Vadodara gave us hope to get it back.”

Aarti (12th grader)

“Our school had to cancel sports day because there was no playground. This movement has given students like me a second chance.”

Kamlesh (retired teacher)

“As a senior citizen, seeing kids playing outside brings me joy. I volunteered to paint benches so they have a cozy spot to sit.”
